If you have been thinking about starting a new exercise program or have been putting it off, the good news is this, it's never too late to start.
In a recent article published in the British Medical Journal, researchers who studied a group of men (more than 2200 subjects) above 50 years of age for 10 years. Weight, alcohol intake and smoking habits were also taken into account. They found that subjects who had increased their activity levels ended up living as long as those who had been active much earlier.
The subjects who exercised the most ( 3hours of sports activity a week), lived 2.3 years longer than those who did not exercise and 1.1 years longer than those who exercised moderately.
The authors also mentioned that the positive effects of starting to exercise were similiar to the positive effects of giving up smoking.
What are you waiting for?
