Yesterday we arrived in Shihjhuo, which is 45mins away from Alishan. We took the high speed train from Taipei to Chiayi (1.5hours) then took a bus to Shihjuo (1.5hours). At Shihjhuo, we were met by our host's son, David. He drove us to the Small Swiss home stay which is where we'll be for 2 nights.
It was a foggy evening which soon cleared just before sunset. That's the first photo I took after the fog cleared. That's the view we have from the homestay. David instantly made us feel at home and made us tea. That's David with Gino in the fourth photo.
This is the perfect place to read and have tea! It's peaceful. For once, we have no traffic noise..nice! This is where I've been able to update this blog too! Thanks to Charlies, David and their team at the Small Swiss Homestay.
You have to visit this beautiful place in Taiwan. It's a home away from home. Charlies is the owner of this home. He was born on this mountain and returned here after retirement to run this homestay. Please see http://small-swiss.so-buy.com/ or you could email Charlies at charlies200388882003@yahoo.com.tw to find out about visiting this place.
They grow Oolong tea at this homestay. Tonight we'll be watching how they prepare the leaves for optimal taste and fragrance, after they've been picked this morning. Stay tuned for the update :)
